Strong alliance for the future: two technology companies join forces for automation, service and hydrogen in Austria
Vienna/Goslar, September 20, 2025
The companies FEST GmbH and MAT Energy Systems GmbH will be working more closely together in future to combine their strengths in the areas of automation technology, service and hydrogen solutions. This partnership will create an even more efficient provider for Austrian industry – with a particular focus on the steel industry and renewable energy projects.
As part of the strategic realignment of FEST GmbH, support for Austrian customers will in future be coordinated centrally via the Goslar site, where Lennart Kattke and Dennis Steckhan will be available as new contacts. In this context, the branch office in Vienna will be closed at the end of 2025. Some experienced specialists from Vienna will continue their work at MAT Energy Systems GmbH so that the usual expertise is retained and the continuity of services is guaranteed in the best possible way.
For customers, the pooling of resources means greater effectiveness, faster availability of experts on site and customized solutions for the transformation of industrial and energy processes.
“The steel industry in particular is facing the challenge of combining efficiency, digitalization and sustainability. With our joint presence in Austria, we are creating the best conditions to actively support our customers in this transformation,” explains Lennart Kattke, CTO-Process Technology at FEST GmbH.
The alliance is also becoming increasingly important in the field of renewable energies: “Whether wind power, hydropower, photovoltaics or the production and use of green hydrogen – our technologies and services complement each other perfectly to successfully implement projects of any size in Austria,” emphasizes Markus Stephan, Managing Director of MAT Energy Systems.
The partnership includes expanded service capacities, a stronger local engineering team and investments in the further development of hydrogen technologies. The two companies are thus sending out a clear signal: innovation and customer proximity are becoming the driving force behind a sustainable industry in Austria.
