We are pleased to start the new year with a significant order for a 2 MW PEM electrolysis system “gEl 400”. Our customer, Stadtwerke Düsseldorf AG, will use our electrolyzer to produce hydrogen for fuel cell buses and trucks. The biogenic electricity from Stadtwerke’s waste incineration plant will be used to produce the hydrogen. This represents an important step towards climate-friendly inner-city mobility.
Stadtwerke Düsseldorf, H2 MOBILITY Deutschland and Rheinbahn have jointly decided to invest in hydrogen technology in order to achieve the state capital Düsseldorf’s goal of climate neutrality by 2035. As part of this cooperation, Stadtwerke Düsseldorf is building our electrolyzer for the on-site production of hydrogen, while H2 MOBILITY is building the associated publicly accessible hydrogen filling station, and Rheinbahn is converting its fleet to climate-friendly drives and has already initiated the procurement of 20 fuel cell buses, some of which are already in operation on site in Düsseldorf. This combination will make significant progress towards future-oriented, sustainable mobility in the city of Düsseldorf.
This order underlines our strategic focus on electrolysis systems for decentralized applications, particularly for mobility projects in the municipal sector. A strong start to the new year, which motivates us and confirms that we are on the right track. We are looking forward to the implementation phase of this project and look forward to further forward-looking initiatives.
