PEM electrolysis is particularly suitable for industrial applications because it operates dynamically (fast load changes for PV/wind), delivers very pure H₂ qualities for process and raw material paths, is modularly scalable (from PoC to MW classes) and can be easily integrated into existing systems thanks to compact skids. The solid polymer electrolyte simplifies operation and maintenance. In addition, partial load operation and frequent start/stop operation are easily manageable and therefore ideal for flexible industrial processes.
